Chris has been leading group trips and outdoor adventures for more than 25 years, with roots that trace back to growing up in Arizona as the middle of seven children in an outdoor-loving family. That early connection to the outdoors and to shared experiences shaped his approach to travel and community from the very beginning.
Before founding Pride Adventures, Chris helped build California Gay Adventures (CGA), creating space for LGBTQ+ people to connect through hiking, camping, and shared outdoor experiences. Over time, that community-first foundation expanded into broader group travel, while staying true to the same values of connection, inclusion, and fun.
Today, Chris focuses on shaping the experiences behind Pride Adventures trips and supporting the hosts and partners who help bring them to life. He believes the best journeys are the ones where people feel welcomed, supported, and connected long after the trip ends.
Trip Itinerary:
Get ready for nine days of unforgettable experiences across Germany, Czechia, Austria, and Hungary — where every moment is steeped in history, culture, and connection.
Your journey includes a walk along the Berlin Wall with a local historian, a guided tour of Prague’s Old Town, a chef-led tasting experience at Vienna’s legendary Naschmarkt, a classic Sacher Torte tasting, and a guided Budapest history walking tour.
🏙️ Days 1–2: Berlin – History, Art & LGBTQ+ Culture
Arrive in Germany’s bold and dynamic capital. Settle in and meet your group at the welcome meeting. Explore Berlin with an orientation walk, then dive into its powerful past with a private tour along the Berlin Wall led by a historian.
Optional activities include visits to the East Side Gallery, Brandenburg Gate, and Checkpoint Charlie.

Stay: NH Berlin Alexanderplatz (or similar), centrally located near key historical sites
🛤️ Days 3–4: Prague – Medieval Charm & Free Time
Travel by private vehicle Prague and get to know this storybook city with a guided walking tour of the Old Town, Charles Bridge, and Jewish Quarter. The following day is all yours to explore Prague’s castles, cathedrals, beer gardens, or riverside cafés at your own pace.

Optional: Prague Castle, Petřín Hill, Malá Strana, Vltava river views
Stay: Miss Sophie’s Downtown (or similar), a comfortable boutique-style stay with easy access to the city center
🏰 Day 5: Český Krumlov – Fairytale Bohemia
Head into the Bohemian countryside and explore the enchanting town of Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander cobbled lanes, enjoy riverside views, or opt to tour the impressive castle grounds.

🎶 Days 6–7: Vienna – Culture, Cuisine & Coffeehouses
Arrive in Austria’s elegant capital and dive into one of Vienna’s most beloved traditions with a chef-led tasting experience at the famed Naschmarkt. The next day, enjoy an orientation walk and visit a classic Viennese café for Sacher Torte and coffee, with free time for palaces, opera, museums, or café culture.

💧 Day 8: Budapest – Baths, Bridges & Social Impact
Travel to Hungary by train and enjoy a guided history walking tour through Budapest’s medieval and Jewish districts, including the Great Market Hall and the city’s historic Jewish Quarter. During free time, you may choose to visit the thermal baths, explore Buda Castle, cruise the Danube, or enjoy the city’s famous ruin bars.

Join an optional group visit to Český Krumlov Castle and Chateau, with courtyards, gardens, a baroque theatre, and beautiful views over this fairy-tale town. Admission is paid separately.

Naschmarkt Walk with a Chef

Budapest Thermal Bath Experience

This trip involves daily walking tours through historic city centers, castles, and cultural sites. Expect cobblestone streets, stairs, and uneven terrain in places like Český Krumlov and Prague. While not strenuous, a basic level of mobility and comfort walking 2–4 miles per day will ensure you enjoy the experience fully.

🛡️ Travel Insurance Requirement
Travel medical insurance is required for all international Pride Adventures trips. Your policy must include a combined minimum of $200,000 USD in emergency medical, evacuation, and repatriation coverage.
Trip cancellation insurance is not required, but it is strongly recommended. This coverage can help protect your travel investment in the event of unexpected situations before or during travel, including illness, family emergencies, travel disruptions, or natural disasters.
Some credit cards include limited travel protections, but many do not meet our minimum requirements for international travel. Please review your existing coverage carefully to confirm that it meets the trip requirements.
If you need help finding a policy, our team can provide quotes through our trusted insurance partners, including Travelex and Trawick.
For domestic Pride Adventures trips, travel insurance is strongly recommended.
