Absolutely, and you are in very good company. A significant portion of our travelers join solo, and many say it was one of the best decisions they made. You will arrive as a solo traveler and leave with a group that feels like old friends.
Our trips are built around connection, which means solo travelers are never an afterthought. Roommate matching is available on most of our trips at no additional cost when shared room space is available. Private room upgrades may be available on select trips for travelers who prefer their own space.

What is included in the trip price?
Inclusions vary by trip and are always listed in detail on each trip page. As a general guide, most Pride Adventures trips include:
- Accommodation for all nights of the trip
- Ground transportation and transfers between destinations during the trip
- Daily breakfast and select group meals as noted per trip
- A welcome dinner at the start of the trip
- A farewell dinner at the end of the trip
- Your Pride Adventures trip host for the full trip on hosted departures

Can Pride Adventures help with flights and travel insurance?
Yes. While flights and insurance are your responsibility to book, our team is happy to help with both.
For travel insurance, we work with trusted partners including Travelex and Trawick and can provide quotes. Submit an inquiry and we can help you review your options.
For flights, contact our team and we can assist or connect you with flight support depending on your trip.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Travel medical insurance is required for all international Pride Adventures trips. Your policy must include a combined minimum of USD $200,000 in emergency medical, evacuation, and repatriation coverage.
Trip cancellation insurance is not required but strongly recommended. It can protect your investment against unexpected situations before or during travel, such as illness, family emergencies, or natural disasters.
Some credit cards include basic travel protections, but many do not meet our minimum requirements for international travel. We recommend reviewing your existing coverage carefully. If you need a policy, contact our team and we can provide quotes through our trusted insurance partners Travelex and Trawick.
For domestic Pride Adventures trips, travel insurance is strongly recommended.
What happens after I book a Pride Adventures trip?
Here is what the journey from booking to boarding looks like:
- Confirmation — Once we have reached the minimum number of travelers, we will officially confirm your trip and notify you by email. This status is also reflected on the trip page. Until then, your registration and deposit hold your spot.
- Deposit and payment — Your $500 deposit secures your spot. Payment plan installments begin approximately 30 days after your deposit and continue until your final payment is due 90 days before departure.
- Departure Lounge access — Once your trip is confirmed, you will receive access to your trip’s private Departure Lounge inside the Travel with Pride community platform, where you will find trip updates, resources, and connection with fellow travelers.
- Pre-departure updates — You will receive regular email updates as your trip approaches with important information and reminders.
- Pre-departure call — Your Pride Adventures host and admin team will connect with the group before departure to answer questions and start building community.
- WhatsApp group — A group chat opens approximately 7 to 14 days before departure so you can connect with your host and fellow travelers in real time.
- Final details — Closer to departure, you will receive comprehensive final trip information via email and your Departure Lounge, including arrival instructions, confirmed accommodation, itinerary, and host contact details. We will also send text updates for any last-minute information.
- You travel — Show up, connect with your group, and enjoy every moment.
- Shared photo album — When possible, we create a shared photo album so everyone can collect and keep their favorite memories from the experience.
- Post-trip recap — When possible, we may put together a post-trip video or recap so you can relive the highlights and share the experience with people back home.

What types of trips does Pride Adventures offer?
Pride Adventures offers three main travel experiences:
Gay Men’s Trips: These trips are designed specifically for gay and bisexual men looking to explore the world with a like-minded community. Expect a fun, social, and connected group experience with fellow travelers who share your interests and your spirit of adventure.
Lesbian Adventures: These trips are designed for lesbian, bisexual, and queer women who want to travel with a community that gets them. From active adventures to cultural experiences, these trips bring together women who love to explore the world together.
Mixed LGBTQ+ Trips: These trips welcome the full spectrum of our community. Whether you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, trans, or a supportive ally, mixed trips are open and inclusive by design. Pride festivals, special events, and many of our partner-operated adventures fall into this category.

Many of our departures include a healthy mix of solo travelers and people who come with someone they know. That balance tends to create a great group dynamic. Solo travelers bring openness and energy to the group, while couples and friend pairs often end up connecting with people they never would have met otherwise. The result is usually a group that feels like a real community by the end of the trip.

How large are Pride Adventures groups?
We believe in the power of small group travel. Our trips typically run with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16 travelers, with most groups averaging between 12 and 14 people. Specialty trips such as cruises, double departures, or affinity group experiences may accommodate a larger group size.
Keeping groups small means more flexibility, deeper connections, and a better overall experience for everyone.
How active are the trips?
It depends on the trip, and we will always be upfront about it. Some trips involve a good amount of walking, hiking, or physical activity, while others are more relaxed and flexible in pace. Each trip page includes an activity level description so you can choose a trip that matches your comfort and fitness level.

How do I know if a trip is right for me?
Start with the trip page. It will give you a clear picture of the itinerary, the community focus, the activity level, what is included, and the general pace and vibe. Traveler reviews and testimonials are also a great way to hear directly from people who have traveled with us.

Booking and Payments
How do I book a Pride Adventures trip?
Head to the trip page for the trip you are interested in and follow the registration link. You will complete a short booking form and submit your deposit to secure your spot. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email and information about what comes next.

How much is the deposit?
Most Pride Adventures hosted trips require a deposit of $500 USD to reserve your spot. Specialty trips such as cruises, expedition-style departures, or certain partner-operated trips may have a different deposit structure, which will be outlined on the trip page.
When is my final payment due?
For most trips, your final payment is due 90 days before departure. You will receive payment reminders as that date approaches. Specific payment deadlines are listed on each trip page, and some specialty trips may have different timelines.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. For most trips, payment plan installments begin approximately 30 days after your initial deposit and continue until your final payment is due 90 days before departure. If you need a custom payment arrangement, contact our trip support team and we will do our best to work with you.
What is your cancellation policy?
We want to be transparent about how cancellations work. The following applies to all trips booked directly through prideadventures.com:
$350 Lifetime Travel Deposit
All trips include a non-refundable $350 Lifetime Travel Deposit, which is part of your initial $500 deposit. This deposit has no expiration date and can be applied toward a future Pride Adventures trip if you cancel. It cannot be redeemed for cash or transferred to another traveler.
More than 90 days before departure
Payments made beyond the $350 Lifetime Travel Deposit are refundable. The $350 remains on your account as a credit toward a future trip.
90 days or fewer before departure
All payments are non-refundable, and the Lifetime Travel Deposit credit is forfeited.
Transaction fees
Refunds issued to a credit card are subject to a 5% transaction fee. Refunds via ACH or check have no fee.
For trips booked through a partner operator such as an Antarctica expedition or other specialty departure, cancellation terms will follow that operator’s policy, which we will outline at the time of booking.

Travel Planning
Are flights included in the trip price?
In most cases, international flights to and from your departure and arrival city are not included in the trip price. You are responsible for booking your own flights unless the trip page specifically states otherwise.
Some trips include internal transportation between destinations during the trip, such as a flight between cities mid-itinerary, and this will be listed clearly under trip inclusions. Need help with flights? Contact our team and we can assist or connect you with flight support.
When should I book my flights?
Wait until your trip is officially confirmed before booking flights. A trip is confirmed once we have reached the minimum number of travelers needed to run the departure. We will notify you by email when this happens, and the trip status will also be updated on the trip page.
Once you receive your confirmation, the sooner you book your flights the better, especially for international travel where fares and availability shift quickly. Your confirmation email will include arrival and departure city information to help you plan correctly.

Do I need a passport?
Yes. A valid passport is required for all international Pride Adventures trips. Many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates, so check your expiration date well in advance. Renewal timelines vary and can take several weeks or longer.
Do I need a visa?
Visa requirements vary by destination and by your home country. We will always include destination-specific visa information in your trip updates and Departure Lounge as your departure approaches, so you will know what is needed and how to handle it.
It is ultimately each traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have the correct travel documents. If you have questions before booking, contact our team and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
Are airport transfers included?
Most Pride Adventures trips do not include airport transfers unless specifically noted on the trip page. In many destinations, private transfers can be arranged separately through our team or local partners.
If transfers are not included, we will provide clear arrival instructions so you know how to reach the group hotel. To arrange a transfer or ask about what is available for your trip, submit an inquiry.
Can I arrive early or extend my stay after the trip?
Yes, and many of our travelers do. Arriving two to three days early or staying two to three days after the group trip ends is very common, especially when a trip begins or ends in a major city. It is a great way to explore on your own terms before or after the group experience.
Our trip hosts typically arrive a day early and in some cases stay a day later, so if you arrive ahead of the group, you may have the chance to connect before things officially begin.
Pre and post trip arrangements are your responsibility unless specifically included in your package. Contact our team and we can offer suggestions or connect you with support depending on the trip.

Items not included typically are international flights, travel insurance, passport and visa fees, optional activities or excursions not listed as included, meals beyond those listed, personal spending and souvenirs, alcoholic beverages unless noted, and gratuities for any activities or experiences outside of the group trip inclusions.
The trip page will always be clear about what is included and what is not.
Are welcome and farewell dinners included?
Most Pride Adventures trips include a welcome dinner at the start of the trip and a farewell dinner at the end.
The welcome dinner is one of our favorite moments. It gives everyone a relaxed way to meet the group, settle in, and start the adventure together. The farewell dinner is a chance to celebrate everything you experienced before heading home or continuing on your own.
Some specialty trips, cruises, or partner-operated departures may vary, so each trip page will note what is included.
Are base tips included?
On most Pride Adventures trips, base tips are included for included meals, local guides, drivers, and core trip services. This means you do not need to worry about figuring out when and how much to tip throughout the group experience.
If someone on the trip goes above and beyond and you want to express appreciation with an additional tip, you are absolutely welcome to do so. That is always optional and appreciated, but never expected.
Some specialty trips, cruises, partner-operated departures, or individual optional activities may handle gratuities differently, so each trip page will clearly note what is included.
Who will be leading or hosting my trip?
Every Pride Adventures hosted trip includes a Pride Adventures trip host and a local expert guide from our trusted tour partner. In addition, many trips include specialist guides at specific cities, cultural sites, or experiences along the way.
Your Pride Adventures host supports the group experience, community connection, and overall trip flow. Your local expert guide brings destination knowledge, cultural context, and on the
ground expertise throughout the journey.
In some cases, travelers may book directly with one of our tour company partners for an unhosted departure. These trips do not include a Pride Adventures host and are not our standard group experience. If a trip is unhosted, that will be clearly noted.
Partner-operated trips, cruises, and specialty departures may have a different support structure, which will be outlined on the trip page before you book.
How much free time will I have?
Our trips balance planned experiences with room to breathe. You will have a mix of group activities, guided experiences, and free time to explore on your own, rest, or connect with other travelers at your own pace.
The balance of structured time versus free time varies by trip. Some trips are more immersive and activity-rich. Others are more relaxed. The trip page will give you a sense of the pacing, and your host will always help you make the most of your time in each destination.
What kind of accommodations do you use?
Accommodation standards vary by trip type and are always described on each trip page.
For our classic adventure-style trips, expect simple, clean, and comfortable accommodations well suited to the destination, typically around a 3.5-star standard. These may include hotels, lodges, guesthouses, or locally operated properties, with a focus on location and experience.
For National Geographic Journeys or higher-end departures, accommodations are generally more comfortable, often in the 4 to 4.5-star range, with more distinctive properties that reflect the travel style.
Because many of our trips are operated with trusted tour partners, specific hotels may occasionally change before departure. When that happens, the replacement will be in line with the travel style and standard of the trip.
What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?
Let us know when you register. We include questions about dietary needs and allergies in our booking process, and we share that information with our tour partners and accommodation providers so they can prepare. Your host and local guide will also be aware and can help you navigate menus and local options throughout the trip.

How does Pride Adventures create a more welcoming experience for LGBTQ+ travelers?
Pride Adventures was created so LGBTQ+ travelers could explore the world with more connection, more confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging.
We cannot control every law, cultural norm, public interaction, or individual experience in every destination. LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance vary around the world, and we believe travelers deserve honest, destination-aware information rather than vague promises.
What we can do is plan with intention. We choose our partners, guides, accommodations, and experiences with our community in mind. We set clear expectations for respect within the group. We share relevant pre-departure guidance when helpful. And we create a travel environment where LGBTQ+ people and like-minded travelers can connect, ask questions, support one another, and experience the destination together.

What is the Pride Adventures Departure Lounge?
Most confirmed Pride Adventures hosted trips have their own private Departure Lounge, a dedicated space inside the Travel with Pride community platform where travelers connect and prepare before departure.
Once you have access, you will find trip updates and reminders, helpful travel and destination information, links and resources from the pre-departure call, space to connect and chat with fellow travelers, and any additional notes from your host and team as the trip approaches.
Your Departure Lounge opens as soon as your trip is confirmed, so community begins well before you board a plane.

How will I stay connected before and during the trip?
You will hear from us at every stage. After booking, you will receive a welcome email and access to your Departure Lounge. As your trip approaches, you will receive regular email updates and an invitation to your pre-departure call with your host and our team. Approximately 7 to 14 days before departure, a group WhatsApp chat opens so you can connect with your fellow travelers and host in real time. Closer to departure, we will also send text updates for any important last-minute information.
On the ground, your Pride Adventures host and local guide are your primary points of contact for everything from logistics to local recommendations.
Do you offer roommate matching?
Yes. Roommate matching is available on most Pride Adventures trips at no additional cost when shared room space is available. We do our best to match travelers and connect potential roommates before departure, often within 90 days of the trip, so you have time to get acquainted before you arrive.
