9 Days in Portugal with Queer Connect Travel

This isn’t your typical vacation. It’s not a cookie-cutter bus tour or a generic wine trip — it’s a soul-filling, joy-centered retreat designed by queer travelers, for queer travelers.

We’re thrilled to partner with Queer Connect Travel to bring you a one-of-a-kind experience in Northern Portugal. From Porto’s cobblestone streets and rainbow-friendly nightlife to the vineyard-covered hills of the Douro Valley, every detail has been curated to celebrate queer community, culture, and connection.

Queer Joy in Porto & the Douro Valley

Over nine days, you’ll savor port wine in historic caves, sail up the Douro River on a private yacht, explore hidden gems with local LGBTQ+ guides, and relax in boutique estates chosen for both luxury and charm. With drag bingo nights, soulful Fado music, and countryside farm-to-table feasts, this trip is equal parts culture, celebration, and connection

TRIP HOST

Korbyn & Janni - Porto, Portugal

Korbyn and Janni are the queer couple behind Queer Connect Travel, known for curating intentional, community-driven trips that center LGBTQIA+ joy, culture, and connection. With years of experience living in Northern Thailand and now based in Porto, Portugal, they bring a personal, heart-centered approach to every retreat they lead, blending cultural immersion with rest, adventure, and chosen family.

Korbyn and Janni are the queer couple behind Queer Connect Travel — a platform and experience company dedicated to creating joyful, intentional travel experiences for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Now based in Porto, Portugal, these two seasoned travelers and experience designers bring a deeply personal approach to every retreat they host. Whether leading adventures in Thailand, Europe, or beyond, their focus is always the same: cultivating connection, celebrating queer identity, and building chosen family across borders.

Before founding Queer Connect Travel, Korbyn and Janni spent five years living in Northern Thailand — where they fell in love with the land, the culture, and each other. It was there they hosted their own week-long queer wedding celebration, which inspired the model for the retreats they now offer to their wider community.

Their trips blend cultural immersion, rest, play, and queer joy — intentionally designed for LGBTQIA+ folks of all identities who crave more than just a getaway.

Whether it’s dancing in lantern-lit streets, rafting through jungle rivers, or sharing stories over a slow dinner, Korbyn and Janni create spaces where people feel safe, seen, and celebrated.

Come as you are. Leave with community.

9 Days of Wine, Culture & Queer Connection in Portugal

Imagine sipping port by the river at golden hour, drifting past vineyard-covered hills on a private yacht, and dancing the night away after a drag bingo party. This journey isn’t about rushing from sight to sight — it’s about savoring the flavors, stories, and friendships that make travel unforgettable.

Over nine days, you’ll dive into Porto’s colorful neighborhoods, taste the Douro Valley’s finest wines straight from the source, and soak up queer joy in community. With boutique estates, soulful music, and plenty of time to wander, this retreat blends culture, relaxation, and celebration into one unforgettable Portuguese adventure.

Here’s a quick look at the magic we’ll share:

Days 1–2: Porto Arrival & Hidden Gems

Arrive in Porto and settle into your boutique estate. Kick off with a sunset welcome party, then explore the city’s cobblestone streets and riverside views. Take an LGBTQ-led walking tour, sip natural wines, and enjoy a golden-hour picnic to connect with your new queer family.

Sail beneath Porto’s famous seven bridges on a private cruise, tour historic port wine cellars, and enjoy a rooftop lunch with views of the Douro. Explore coastal fishing villages before capping it off with a glitter-filled night of Drag Bingo.

Relax with a free day to shop, stroll the riverfront, or unwind at a café. That evening, gather for dinner accompanied by live Fado music — Portugal’s hauntingly beautiful traditional sound.

Board a private Princess Yacht and sail upriver past vineyard terraces into the heart of the Douro Valley. Arrive at a countryside quinta and toast the evening with wine and starlit skies.

Spend the day exploring a renowned vineyard, sampling Portugal’s best wines, and enjoying slow moments in the rolling hills.

Share farm-to-table dining prepared with love, soak in your final Douro views, and celebrate your last night with laughter, wine, and queer connection. On Day 9, say farewell to Portugal — and to new friends who now feel like family.
